Laser cut and perforated screening are decorative and privacy metal panels: laser cutting cuts any pattern or artwork to shape, while perforated metal has regular punched hole patterns at high open areas. What is the difference between laser-cut and perforated screening?

Laser cutting cuts a custom pattern (any shape, artwork or motif) with clean edges; perforated metal is a regular, repeating hole pattern (round, square or slotted) usually at a higher open area and lower cost for large areas. Laser-cut suits feature and bespoke patterns; perforated suits large, uniform screening. POBOX makes both.

Can you cut a custom pattern from my artwork?

Yes — supply vector artwork (DXF, AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) or a sketch or brief and we prepare the cut file. Patterns can be geometric, botanical or fully bespoke, at any scale. POBOX designs a pattern for you or cuts yours.

What are laser-cut and perforated screens used for?

How much privacy versus airflow do they give?

The open area (how much is cut away) sets the balance — a lower open area gives more privacy and shade, a higher open area gives more light and airflow. Pattern and viewing angle also matter. POBOX tunes the open area and pattern to the result you want.

Aluminium (lightweight, rust-proof, powder-coated — most screens), steel and Corten (strength and a weathered look), with stainless on request. All powder-coated in any colour with coastal-grade options. POBOX selects to suit.
