Getting size and spec right is the difference between plants that thrive and a planter that fails. This reference covers depths, dimensions, materials, drainage and weights so you can specify with confidence — and it's a handy share for your team or tender.
As a rule of thumb: groundcovers and annuals need shallow depth; shrubs, grasses and small hedging need medium depth; small trees and dense screening need the most. We'll advise exact depths for your planting — deeper is safer for root health and water retention.
Troughs, squares, cylinders, tall/feature planters and modular runs — at balcony, landscape and commercial scales. Standard sizes are quickest and most economical; see our planter boxes. When they don't suit, we make to your dimensions.
Aluminium thickness scales with size — lighter gauge for small planters, heavier gauge with internal bracing for large or structural ones — so even oversize planters stay rigid and true. See benefits of aluminium.
